Sound has been a vital element in my fieldwork, encompassing soundscapes composition, recorded sound walks, and collective listening sessions. Inspired by the concept of Deep Listening (Oliveros, 1988), I developed the Sonority Walking Device to explore the interconnected experience of sound, space, and time. This practice also led me to be interested in Deep Listening as a decolonial approach, reshaping how we engage with our environments. Listening emerges as a political act, confronting the dominance of visual culture in our image-saturated world (Ndikung, 2020).
